Module content

This module is a continuation of Preventive Oral Health 171 and is aimed at enabling an oral hygiene student to develop his/her skills, knowledge and attitude by means of devising, implementing and evaluating a needs-driven primary and basic-secondary preventive programme for a patient. This module entails lectures and clinical work, pertaining to the scope of oral hygiene, on real patients.

The higher education sector has undergone an extensive alignment to the Higher Education Qualification Sub-Framework (HEQSF) across all institutions in South Africa. In order to comply with the HEQSF, all institutions are legally required to participate in a national initiative led by regulatory bodies such as the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET), the Council on Higher Education (CHE), and the South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA).
